At Interplasp, we are taking another step forward in our commitment to safety and sustainability. We have renewed our OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification, this time adopting Annex 6, the most demanding version of this international standard.
What is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100?
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is an international certification that ensures textile products and their components are free from harmful substances. It assesses the entire production process, from raw materials to the finished product, applying strict health and environmental criteria. It is a trusted seal that guarantees both consumer safety and manufacturer responsibility.
What is Annex 6 and why is it important?
Annex 6 was created in response to brands and manufacturers seeking greater control over the chemicals used in the textile and bedding industries. It goes beyond the requirements of Annex 4, with even stricter limits on potentially harmful substances and a clear focus on environmental protection.
This expansion entails:
- Stricter control of questionable chemical substances.
- Higher standards regarding residues, colorants, heavy metals, and plasticizers.
- A preventive approach: regulating compounds even if they do not pose an immediate risk to consumers but may affect the environment.
- A firm commitment to responsible production, aligned with European regulations such as the REACH Regulation.
A Guarantee for the Present, a Commitment to the Future
This renewal is more than a mere formality, it’s a statement of values. By adopting Annex 6, we reinforce our commitment to a safer present and a more sustainable future. Because the comfort we offer must always go hand in hand with responsibility, we continue to develop foams that care for both people and the world we share.
